Training will cover the use of the SESOIL and AT123D models in the SEVIEW 7.1 software. The SESOIL and AT123D models have been used by many state regulatory agencies to develop baseline cleanup objectives. To ensure adequate protection of groundwater the default cleanup objectives were based on the worst case scenario. Application of such conservative cleanup concentrations may result in costly remedial actions that may not be warranted. Environmental consultants can use SESOIL and AT123D to develop site-specific soil impact to groundwater remediation standards. At many sites this can result in higher cleanup concentrations while maintaining protection of groundwater quality.
