Source Size Parameters

The source size parameters are used to set the dimensions of the contaminant release. These parameters are used by both the SESOIL and AT123D models. It also includes both the project and source descriptions. The project description is the title of the SEVIEW project. It is displayed on the base map and various model reports. The source description is the title of the source itself. It is displayed on the base map and various model reports. Source Location The source location parameters are used to establish the position of a source on the base map. Source Size The source size parameters are used to establish the area parallel and perpendicular to groundwater flow. Source Thickness The source thickness parameters are used to establish the depth of the source below the water table. For SESOIL sources the thickness is typically set to zero to simulate a release at the top of the water table. For AT123D sources the thickness is set to the depth of the groundwater plume. The starting depth for AT123D sources is typically entered as a zero. A nonzero value can be entered to simulate a contaminant release from below the water table.
